Swing for the Fences at Our Third Home Run Derby!

The Highland Park Giants Home Run Derby is your family’s chance to step into the batter’s box and swing for the fences! Whether you’re a player, mom, dad, or sibling, you’ll get to experience the thrill of launching baseballs over the outfield wall. It’s one of the most exciting, community-driven nights of the year, a celebration of fun, family, and baseball!

All families must raise a minimum of $125 to participate, with an overall goal of $250 or more in donations per family.

Why Should You Help Us Raise Money?

For the past two years, money raised by the Home Run Derby has supported construction of and enhancements to the Jeff Fox Field at Fink Park, a true gem for our community! This year, we’re rallying to support the newly established Cooperstown Fund which will defray the cost of tournament entry fees for our 12U teams.

The Cooperstown Tournament is a capstone baseball experience specifically for the 12U year. Teams travel from cities across America to meet, compete, stay in the dorms and trade pins in Cooperstown, NY, the home of American baseball. While the money raised goes only toward player fees (not parent travel, food, or lodging), it’s a full program effort. When your child reaches 12U, the Giants community will rally behind them too!

What’s In It for Me?

• Win amazing prizes! The more you raise the better prizes – including Cubs, Sox & Blackhawk tickets! Also including everything from sports memorabilia, player swag, local experiences and gift cards.

Choose your size – unisex adult (small-3XL), women’s fitted (small-2XL) and youth (small-XL). Numbers on the back are optional.

Orders must be received by Friday, June 13.

Home Run Derby Details

• Date: Friday, June 27
• Time: 4:30-8:30pm 
• Location: Danny Cunniff Park
• Divisions: Players, Adult Men, Adult Women 

Rules

• 3 divisions of competition – Players, Moms, Dads
• Players will get 5 swings to hit off a tee at DC2 (highest points – 150pts) 
• Players will get 3 front toss pitches at DC1 (highest points – 100pts) 
• The last swing is the bonus hit. Where the ball lands will make it worth double points
• Players get 10pts if a ball lands over halfway in the air
• Players get 15pts for warning track or hitting fence
• Players get 25pts per home run
• The most points a player can earn is 250pts
• Top point earner in each division gets a trophy
• Tie-breaker points:
  • # of home runs
  • Bonus ball hit points 
  • Money raised
